There are a lot of mistakes a beginner can make play a game as complex as smite so I’m going to teach you what those mistakes are and how you can avoid them.

Number 1

Not getting enough penetration items in your builds

This mistake a made a lot of back in the day and it hurt my stats early on when I was playing. Basically you should have one or two penetration items minimum in your build so you can deal damage to gods who have protection. Plus gods already have base protections so it’s good to get penetration. No matter what god you are playing always build some sort of penetration. It’s a great way to increase damage.

Number 2

Not learning roles in conquest

Conquest is a great way to learn the different types of roles and if you want to get better at the game I would play conquest lots and get used to playing each role effectively. If you learn a little bit of every role you will have better understanding about the match. It will help you understand your teammates better when playing because you know the roles responsibilities and how you can help them achieve your goals. For example if you are a mid laner but understand the jungler role you can have better synergy with your jungler. Plus it’s good to know the other roles because you will know what the enemy is thinking to a certain extent so you know what they could do to you. I would recommend getting really good at two roles you like and then still learn the basics of the other roles.

Number 3

Respect minions

Minions can do a lot of damage early on so I would respect them and not go after your opponent so early on in lane because the minions will turn on you and you will die. Same goes for your opponent so try and clear the enemy minions first so that you can use your minions to attack and get that early kill on your opponent. The archers in a minion wave do most of the damage so if you can clear the archers first that technically disables a minion waves damage output. Also when you farm those minions you get a lot of gold and xp throughout the game to level up faster and get you build online faster. Try and last hit the minions because you get bonus gold and xp.
