5 Great Publications To Write for if You Are a New Writer

And build a thriving online community.

Ever since I have joined Medium, I have met some incredible writers and people and I feel appreciated when they connect with me, take the time to read, and leave comments. And this would not have been possible if I didn’t have a chance to write for some publications.

If you are a new writer, you might face the challenge of being accepted and published by many publications. Many of them have several criteria, one being a member of MPP. Because of the new rule set by Medium, you cannot be a member unless you have at least 100 followers. This may seem like a vicious cycle if you are a new writer on this platform.

There might be other challenges as well. Some publications might accept only established writers or some might already have such a big queue that you might not stand a chance or feel overwhelmed. Thankfully, there are some publications that accept new writers and give them an opportunity to publish.

Being a part of a publication also gives you an opportunity to connect with other writers. I have found some incredible people whose articles I eagerly wait for and who in turn send me appreciation through their comments, claps, and highlights.

Here are five great publications (they are in random order) that I think you will really enjoy writing for.
